Very quick explanations of fractional reserve banking, debt-based systems, UBI, automation, somewhat stronger bench on the Bitcoin (interesting views there!), demurrage-charged currencies, the incumbents' strong entrenched position (the "dynasty").... For a quick, intuitive understanding on money - this is a very good book. A very good book.2. An alternative system of money is presented - the Flow Crypto. First, and right off the bat, ANY alternative system of money should be interesting in its own right, given the litany of challenges the present system faces. The Flow Crypto has many of the right "flavors" - decentralized, democratic, demurrage-charged to encourage circulation...
3. The writing style is easy-to-read, flows naturally.
Read the book, especially if new to the field of money/cryptocurrencies.

Not for beginners. Short advanced analysis. This is for people with more technical and philosophical understanding of crypto. Not saying it is false, but isn't easily read by the layman.
Wow, here's a perspective I haven't seen before!
An interesting mix of economic and principles of money, combined with technological innovations. A lot of food for thought. The short and direct format is welcome as well.
A very opinionated and thought-provoking take on Bitcoin and crypto assets in general. Should be read by believers and skeptics alike. My rating is really 4.5 stars -- would've made it a full 5-star review if the book had been longer (I want to hear more of what Lawton has to say!).
The exciting thing about crypto-currencies is that small groups of people can change the world. Bitcoin is amazing. This book delves into what a successor might look like. I will be discussing these ideas over beer for months! Fun book for currency geeks like me!!
Ideas I've not heard before. I'll admit a knee-jerk negative reaction to the properties of "free money" and depreciating money as part of the flow currency. But that said - SO FAR - I can see no obvious holes. I wonder what the author thinks of the new EOS cryptocurrency?
I can higly recommend this book, which can in a very short time, give you an sober and coherent intro to what Bitcoin is, how it is used and misused. It cuts through all the hype of crypto-hippies, high-rollers and government propaganda - and gives you a insider look in all the shortcomings of Bitcoin, it's volatility and how it is manipulated.
However, it doesn't leave us disillusioned, but gives us an answer as to what a real cryptocurrency framework could be built and sustained, that was inherently fair and structurally effective as a day-to-day currency. "The flow crypto"...
