Continuing the theme of Christian ER worker meets her future husband in the ER and of protective dogs, Doctor Katy meets Game Warden Reese while treating him for a bear attack and then a shooting. Katy, who left Baltimore for the peace and quiet of Crystal Lake, soon finds herself embroiled with Reese and his dog Duke in some life threatening situations.
Action packed with near collisions, a rescue on the lake, burglary, a forest fire, and an attempted kidnapping this novel is suspenseful and ever changing.

I enjoy reading Laura Scott's books. Worth the Wait is full of mystery, suspense, faith and romance. I found it enjoyable getting to know about Katy, Reese and of course Duke in this story!
This was by far the best book in the series . Fast paced action. Kept my interest thru the entire book. Course having a dog as a hero helpoed
I have enjoy reading these series of books. I am reading book 6. It is wonderful reading good clean books with God in it.
Laura Scott weaves a great story about the people in Crystal Lake. Her series has been entertaining and compelling evidence for belief in God.
I recommend this book to anyone who appreciates a wonderful love story and adventure intertwined together. This book is full of suspense and descriptive of the hurt felt by a man hurt by a woman and how God stepped in and restored his faith and how God put the right woman for him.
Worth the Wait is the new installment in Laura Scott's Crystal Lake Series. I've read every book in the series and I loved every one of them. Worth the Wait is no exception. The story is inspirational, romantic, and suspenseful, and I couldn't put it down.
The characters of DNR game warden Reese Webster and ER Doctor Katy Reichert feel real and are easy to relate to. Reese starts out by being a patient of Dr. Katy, but when the danger that follows him threatens Katy's life as well, he makes the decision to protect her. Both Reese and Katy have issues of the past that prevent them from forming a relationship at first, but they help each other confront those issues. And I liked how Katy's faith helped Reese become a believer as well.
I also have to say that Duke, Reese's German shepherd, was amazing! All in all, highly recommend.
I just finished this book and loved it! Reese is my favorite hero so far in the Crystal Lake series. He is a courageous and compassionate man, dedicated to his job as a DNR Game Warden and to his partner Duke, a trained German Shepherd. Duke makes a wonderful secondary hero, and wins over Katy despite her fear of dogs. In a way, he helps Reese also win her heart. I loved the bond the three of them form.
I really enjoy the Crystal Lake series set in a close-knit community in small town U.S.A and that the characters from previous books make appearances throughout the series so you really stay connected to the entire town. I can't wait to read the next one in the series!
